Trieka replaces Flavio in Angola’s WC2006 squad!

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has made a grave error on its website by replacing the name of Angolan striker Amado Flavio with that of Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Abu Trieka in Angola’s players’ list in the 2006 World Cup.

Flavio and Abu Trieka were once teammates in the Egyptian football club, Al Ahly where they shared a great spell, winning the Egyptian Premier League several years in a row, as well as the African Champions League.

The Angolan striker led his national team to the knockout stage in the 2006 World Cup, while Egypt did not even qualify to take part in the tournament. He made just one appearance in the competition, which was held in Germany, scoring Angola’s only goal in a game against Iran.
